Tasmanian Poker Championships 2013: Victory of Gavin Hanlon
Since a few years, Australia has become a reference destination for amateurs and professionals of poker. Within a year, the country hosts several major tournaments, following the example of the Asia Pacific Poker Tour, the Australia New Zealand Poker Tour or the Aussie Millions. Last weekend, the State of Tasmania received the Tasmanian Poker Championships in the poker room of Wrest Point Casino of Hobart. With its re-entry format, the Main Event at $290 of this edition 2013 of the TPC recorded 92 registrations, which generated a prizepool of $23,000. Among the notable players who took the start of this event, in the poker room of the Wrest Point Casino, we could find Will Willy Lowball Jones, Fflur Higgs, Amon Mustchin Toby Mr Bellagio Meredith, Zijie Zhao, Mads Neilson or David Bowen.
After the two days of departure, there were only 40 players left. The latter have taken the start of the Day 2, till the obtaining of the final table. Among the unfortunate players of the day, we found Mark Selby, Raju Rowe, Nathan Seaburn, Bob Casey Chris Edgar, Toby Meredith Fflur Higgs or the bubble boy of the final table, Doug Shelly. The final table was played between Walter Digiorio, David Bowan, Kyle Dolbel, Gavin Hanlon, Michael Males and Bill Arnol. Kyle Dolbel was the first who left the table, followed a few hands after by Michael Males, Walter Digiorio and David Bowan. The four players left with gains included between $1,380 and $3,450. Gavin Hanlon won the heads-up against Bill Arnol and pocketed $5,060$. The runner-up of the tournament contented himself with $5,060.
