ANZPT 2013: Queenstown closes the Season 5
The Australia New Zealand Poker Tour (ANZPT) is a renowned poker tournament in Oceania. After stops in Melbourne, Auckland, Perth and Sydney, the ANZPT 2013 continues the season with its last step in Queenstown. The latter has always kept poker players interest, with its beautiful restaurants and its various activities apart from poker. The ANZPT Queenstown, which will be held from July 30th to August 4th, closes the season 5. The poker room of the Skycity of Queenstown will be the host of this event, which groups six major tournaments, in addition to the satellite tournaments. The ANZPT Queenstown will propose a Main Event and 5 Side Events, with a buy-in going from $550 to $3,000. The Main Event will last over four days, with three departure days and by paying a buy-in of $3,000, the players will be able to participate in this event with a departure stack of 20,000 chips, on levels of 60 minutes.
In 2012, the Main Event of the ANZPT Queenstown gathered 149 players, the last record of attendance in its five years of existence, in the step of the ANZPT to Queenstown. The event was won by the Australian David Allan, who pocketed $110,600. Apart from the Main Event, a large number of Side Events are included in the program: NLHE Turbo at $550, Pot Limit Omaha 2nd Chance at $550 and the Teams Event at $550, which became a classic at the ANZPT. Mega Satellite tournaments at $650 will be organized for the qualification at the Main Event NZPT Queenstown.
