World Poker Tour: Kickoff of the season XII in Cyprus
The first step of the World Poker Tour (WPT) Season XII will take place in Cyprus, from next August 12th. The competition will be held within the luxurious Merit Cristal Cove Casino and Resort, a five-star establishment which is located in the north of the country. The WPT Merit Cyprus Classic will be a poker festival that is going to last two weeks, during which 35 tournaments will be included in the program. Concerning the main event, its launching is planned for Friday August 16th. The buy-in for this main event is amounted at $4,400 and it will stand out by its guaranteed prizepool of one million dollar. In addition, a nice structure waits for participants, because the opponents will be entitled of 30,000 departure chips, for blinds of 60 minutes.
Among the 35 events organized during this poker tournament, the WPT Big Stack Challenge accessible for $2,200 of entry fee is also an event which will not miss to seduce players. The event will also have a guaranteed prizepool of $100,000. And as High Roller tournaments are henceforth essential during the major circuits, this WPT will also have one. It is about the High Roller Merit Cyprus Classic, endowed with a buy-in of $10.000, with a guarantee of $400,000. Fans of this competition will meet in the poker room of Merit Cristal casino in August 18th. The cash game tournament called Big Game will also be in the program. It will be subject of television broadcasting and several renowned players, following the example of Freddy Deeb, Tony G and Sam Trickett will take part in it. Note that the WPT Cyprus will begin with Warm Up event, at $1,100 of buy-in and will end on Sunday August 24th, by a NL-Hold'em Re-buy & Add-On of $120.
