WPT Alpha8: A super high roller special tournament
A new international circuit, intended for enthusiasts of high roller, has just appeared. It is about the World Poker Tour Alpha 8 (WPT), a $100,000 buy-in super high roller, with re-entry. The first edition of the Alpha 8 will be held in August 26th of this year and will be called the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open-WPT Alpha 8 Florida. Thus, this poker tournament is organized within the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open. It will take place in the casino with the same names poker room, in Hollywood, in Florida. Concerning the structure of the WPT Alpha 8, it was developed by Matt Savage. The opponents will be entitled with100,000 chips for the starting stack and blinds begin with 200/400. The duration of game level depends on the number of players on table. If there are less than 25 players, it will be set to 60 minutes. If the field oscillates between 25 and 49 participants, the level of the game will last 40 minutes, during the nine first rounds. With a field of 50 participants, rounds will last 40 minutes.
Note that the Super High Roller was always considered as a magnificent event. And the WPT Alpha 8 will be so. It will be subject of TV broadcasting, so that it will be more spectacular. The WPT has effectively signed a collaboration agreement, which lasts three years with FOX Sports 1 (FS1); the latter will broadcast entirely the competition, on Sundays at 10:00 p.m, from March 16th. The television show will last about four hours and the charming Lynn Gilmartin will be the presenter. According to the organizers, the Alpha 8 will have stops in North America, in Europe, in South Africa and in Asia.
