Poker Festival of Montréal: The greatest poker tournament of the year in Canada
Poker is a booming industry in Canada. After a step of the WPT in May, the country is going to host a great poker tournament called « Poker Festival de Montréal ». This major event will take place from September 21st to October 3rd, in the Poker Club Playground of Kahnawake. And during these 13 days, 17 tournaments were introduced in the program, including the Main Event. The latter will be accessible for a buy-in of $1,100, for a guaranteed prizepool of $1 million. Apart from the Main Event, other tournaments will be accessible for a buy-in between $60 and $220.
A large number of Canadian players are globally known for their performances in the most prestigious live poker circuits, such as the World Series of Poker or the World Poker Tour. It is the case for Jonathan Duhamel who is an emblematic figure of Canadian poker. During the WSOP 2013, Canadians have won 10 bracelets, while Marc Etienne McLaughlin qualified for the final table of the Main Event, planned in November 4th of this year. This Poker Festival de Montréal will be an occasion to find again this beautiful world for a round of poker at home. For the moment, any confirmation was given by players, but given the importance of this event in the region of Montréal, and moreover throughout the country, some players such as Jonathan Duhamel, Kristen Bicknell, Marc Etienne McLaughlin, Daniel Idema, Charles Sylvestre, Benny Chen, Michael Malm, Levi Berger, Mark Radoja, Calen McNeil, Jason Duval or Justin Oliver will be surely present.
