Global Poker Index: Marvin Rettenmaier rises again in the Top 3
Weeks pass but are not always the same, at the level of the classification of the best players of poker of the moment. In fact, poker tournament held almost around the world continue to upset day by day this ranking. Since a few weeks, Jason Mercier remained at the top of the classification of the Global Poker Index, which gathers the 300 best poker players in the world. The American keeps his throne, thanks to his presence at the World Series of Poker which is currently taking place at Rio of Las Vegas. Up to now, Mercier participated in six events of the WSOP; and on each of his appearances, he was included in the ITM, with a total of $ 46,106 of earnings. He is ahead of the German Philipp Gruissem, who stood out in Melbourne, on the occasion of the World Series of Poker Asia-Pacific, during which he won the NLH Caesars Cup Invitational and the High Roller tournament.
The 3rd place of the ranking belongs to Marvin Rettenmaier. The German made a jump of four places and is ahead of Daniel Negreanu, Joseph Cheong, Michael Watson and Stephen ODwyer. In the rest of the Top 10, we find respectively Andrew Lichtenberger, David Sands and Paul Volpe, the n°1 of the classification of the GPI Player of the Year. The best progress of the week belongs to the American Steve Sung, who realized the achievement by integrating the Top 300, with a gain of 657 places (269th). He participated in four events of this 44th edition of the WSOP and Steve Sung always ended into the money and won the No Limit Hold'em - 6 Handed of $ 25,000 buy-in, in a field of 175 players. For this victory, he won a bracelet and $1,205,324; that is boosting his gain at the WSOP 2013 at $ 1,238,702 and more than $ 4.5 million in career.
