GPI: The biggest progress for Dmitry Vitkind

Each week, the Global Poker Index (GPI) receives an update for the classification of the 300 best global poker players. For the update on the date of June 17, the rank has undergone some changes both inside the Top 10 and the rest of the classification. The five first places of the GPI remain unchanged with Jason Mercier on the top of the board, followed by Philipp Gruissem, Daniel Negreanu, Michael Watson and Stephen O'Dwyer. Marvin Rettenmaier (7th) and Bertrand Grospellier (8th) move back of one place by leaving the 6th position of the ranking to Joseph Cheong (+3). Paul Volpe finished also in the 9th place of the Top 10, after having collected 4 places in the classification.



The GPI ranking of the week was marked by the prominent progress of Dmitry Vitkind who won 114 places to hit the 128th position. The Russian was in the ITM during his appearances of this year, in different poker tournament. In March 2013, Dmitry Vitkind finished 45th in the Main Event of the Kiev's Joker Tour and 15th in the No Limit Hold'em of the EPT Berlin in April. In this month of June, the Russian raises himself in the 13th place of the No Limit Hold'em tournament of the Deep Stack Extravaganza III, Pot Limit Hold'em (19th) and No Limit Hold'em - 6 Handed (15th) of the WSOP 2013. In the course of the first half of this year, Dmitry Vitkind pocketed nearly about $ 40,000 of gain in tournament.
