ISPT Wembley : Victory of Jakub Michalak during the Main Event
The final table of the Main Event of the International Stadium Poker Tour (ISPT) was played on last Wednesday with the 6 survivors from the five days of competition, which gathered 761 players. Pete Linton was the best placed at the beginning of the day with a huge stake of more than 11 million chips, but Jakub Michalak surprised by winning this poker event hand down, played on the London stadium, metamorphosed in a few days in a giant poker room. Having started the day with the smallest stake of the final table, beside Xavy el Fassy, Jakub Michalak resisted until the last minutes of the heads up with the French. The two short stack at the beginning of the final table, Xavier el Fassy (4,555,000) and Jakub Michalak (4,825,000) succeeded to reverse the trend by eliminating one by one players present on the table, which were widely higher than them in terms of chipcount : Pete Linton (11,070,000), Alban Juen (7,615,000), Nick Hicks (6,230,000) and Gwendoline Janot (6,230,000).
The first payout of the final table, 243,000, came back to the Frenchwoman Gwendoline Janot, following her elimination at the 6th place. Alban Juen was the next on the list and received 254,000 for his 5th place. He was followed a few hands later by Pete Linton (4th, 290,000) and Nick Hicks (3rd, 376,000). The first edition of the ISPT ends consequently with the victory of Jakub Michalak. The Polish, best player at online poker of the country, pocketed 436,000 for this nice victory, while the runner-up of the tournament, Xavier El Fassy, was rewarded of 204,000.
