WPT Montreal: Paul Klann, chipleader at the start of Day 3
Playground Poker Club in Montreal hosted since the beginning of this week a new edition of the World Poker Tour Canadian Spring Championship. Last year, the event gathered more than 1,000 participants who paid the $ 3,300 buy-in. This year, the WPT Montreal attendance decreased but 735 participants provided a high-level competition where conviviality and challenge reigned in Playgroud Poker Club during the three departure days. This field generated a prizepool of $ 2,121,244 among which $ 438,607 are for the winner and $ 270,311 for the runner-up. The tournament includes 72 paid places and the first eliminated player from the ITM will leave with $ 6,076. Among the 735 participants of the Day 1A, 1B and 1C, 294 began the Day 2. But at the end of the day, the WPT Montreal has only 44 survivors.
Paul Klann ended the day with the most chips, followed by Jonathan Bardler (1,356,000) and Josh Field (1,078,000) to complete the Top 3. Other players as Amrimasoud Babakhani, Danny Suied, Brian Beggs, Jason Duval, Derek Lemer, Ravi Raghavan, Ben Hamnett, Christian Harder and Mike Linster will be also part of the field at the start of the Day 3. Tyler Reiman is the bubble boy of the tournament by failing at one place of the ITM. Bobby Oboodi, Jonathan Driscoll, Shannon Shorr, Jeff Gross or Chanracy Khun were also unlucky during this day because they reached the paid places, they left the poker room with a minimum gain of $ 6,076. Note that 18 of the 44 survivors of the Day 2 will be qualified at the end of Day 3.
