IPT Grand Final: The title comes back to the local player Nicola Sasso
The Casino of San Remo hosted in the afternoon of Monday, in its poker room, the final table of the Italian Poker Tour (IPT) Grand Final. After a few days of competition, there were only David Taborsky, Daniele Scatragli, Jérémie Sarda, David Peters, Nicola Sasso, Alessandro Domenico and Valeri Savov to try to win the title of this grand finale of the IPT 2013. The final table guaranteed a minimum gain of 16,600 against 210,000 for the winner. Nicola Sasso began the final table with the most important chips (2,820,000), whereas his direct pursuer, David Peters, was more than 2.27 million. The rest of the field has less than 1.7million chips and the short stack of the day was Daniele Scatragli with 195,000 chips.
The only French still in the race of this poker tournament, Jérémie Sarda, occupied the 5th place of the chipcount with a little more than one million chips (1,175,000). Runner-up of the FPS Lyon in 2010 and having finished in the 4th place at the FPS Mazagan 2011, Jérémie Sarda was on the good way to end in the Top 3 of this Italian circuit but his joy was short. After the successive elimination of Daniele Scatragli, Domenico Benvenuto and David Taborsky, the French fell in his turn to the 5th place and consoled himself with a gain of 41,500. The eliminations of Valeri Savov and Alessandro Monticciolo allowed afterward the Italian Nicola Sasso and the American David Peters to meet in head's up. The local player Nicola Sasso preserved his advance in chips on table and took the title. Nicola Sasso pocketed 185,000 against 155,000 for his runner up.
