Nevada: Opening of Ultimate Poker, PokerStars rejected
Online poker in the United States has just come to know a great change with the opening of the first legal online poker site in the State of Nevada. It has been necessary to wait two months to see the first site offering legally online poker in Nevada but the wait was worth because from now, amateurs of online poker for real money replay safely under the law. For that purpose, Ultimate Poker opened this Wednesday for a 30 days license, a sort of trial period. A permanent license will be granted when everything works correctly. As a reminder, Ultimate Poker is a poker room of the company Ultimate Gaming which built its reputation during the last years through the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Three years after the « Black Friday », online poker comes back to the front of the stage and the President of Ultimate Gaming, Tobin Prior baptized the day of Wednesday May 1st 2013, the « Trusting Wednesday ».
While Ultimate Poker room opened in Nevada, the dream of PokerStars to return on the legal market of online poker in the United States comes to know a new turn. In fact, the repurchase of Atlantic Club by this giant of online poker has just fallen by the wayside. Casino operators in the State of New Jersey are opposed to this transaction that would allow it to conquer once again the United States after the « Black Friday ». The contract of $ 30 million expired last Friday and PokerStars should again have to find a new land-based casino as partner to be able to offer again online poker in the United States.
