Global Poker Index: Rettenmaier on the first place, Darcourt jumps up with 104 places
The Global Poker Index is the weekly ranking of the 300 best players of poker tournament in the world. During the week from April 19 till 25, 2013, Marvin Rettenmaier kept the head of the classification in front of Michael Watson and Philipp Gruissem to complete the podium. Thus, the top 10 of the ranking remains unchanged with Philipp Gruissem at the 3rd place, followed by Bertrand Grospellier, Joseph Cheong, Bryn Kenney, David Sands, Ole Schemion, Jason Mercier and Michael Mizrachi. The French Guillaume Darcourt signs the best progress of the week by making a jump of 104 places to hit the 192th place of the classification. Darcourt owes this progress to his performance in Cannes where he won the Main Event of the World Poker Tour National, his first victory of this year.
Benjamin 'MagicDeal'Pollak, Franck Kalfon and Peter de Korver also enter the ranking. Khiem Nguyen should also join the classification after his excellent performance in the Main Event of the European Poker Tour. Joe Hachem is at the last place of this ranking. During the week from April 19 to 25, 2013, some players like Justin Young, Lee Childs, Max Lehmanski, Nick Grippo, Mustapha Kanit, Grzegorz Derkowski and Kenneth Hicks left the classification. Other players are also approaching the exit due to a lack of performance in poker tournament. The Canadian Andrew Chen recorded the strongest fall of the week by loosing 66 places at the 284th. Jacob Bazeley (297th, -38) and Mclean Karr (299th, -44) are in the red and may disappear of ranking at any time.
