Online poker: A temporary license in New Jersey for PokerStars
As soon as the online poker offer had the favor of legislators in the State of New Jersey, PokerStars already won its license to do its business in this part of the United States. Although the license is only temporary, the Red Spades poker room, the current manager of Atlantic Club seems to have scored a point against the American Gaming Association, or AGA. As a reminder, this association wanted to oppose the repurchase of a land-based casino by Pokersars, in the State and to its license application of online poker, claiming its implication in the Black Friday affair.
PokerStars is not the only one excited about this news. While pending on the final verdict of the various commissions that will certainly fall in August, this poker room should not wait long time to know so much success as before. Indeed, the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE) will still have to decide about the case of PokerStars for 90 days, before relegating the matter to the Casinos Control Commission (CCC). This second stage will take another 30 days before the final fate of this online poker website is fixed. In this race to conquer this American online poker market in full opening, Caesars Interactive Entertainment is also going to demand its license in view of the opening of its WSOP.com room. But in any case, it seems that the opening of the American market is very imminent and all operators are on the starting blocks.
