WSOP Asia-Pacific: Phil Ivey won his ninth bracelet
ItÂ’s only during the first edition of the World Series of Poker Asia Pacific that the Tiger Woods of poker comes finally to pick up his ninth Grand Slam victory. Phil Ivey did an excellent tournament in 2012 at the World Series of Poker held in Las Vegas but he finished the tournament without a bracelet around the wrist. On Wednesday in Melbourne, things changed! The kid of Atlantic City won a great victory during the Event # 3 of the WSOP APAC, the $ 2,200 Mixed Event, face to a field of 81 players. Phil Ivey shone in this event with 8 variants and cashed $ 51,840. Brandon Wong finished in the second place with a gain of $ 32,039, followed by Graeme Putt ($ 22,427), Daniel Negreanu ($ 16,336), Rob Campbell ($ 12,020) and Kevin Song ($ 8,978).
Daniel Negreanu was also among the legends of poker who flew to Crown Casino in Melbourne for this bracelets race but his dream gone after his removal face to Brandon Wong. With this new victory with a bracelet, Phil Ivey reached the fourth position of poker players having the most bracelets. In the first place is Phil Hellmuth with 13 bracelets, Doyle Brunson (10) and Johnny Chan (10). As for Daniel Negreanu, he is at his fourth bracelet. It remains to Phil Ivey to win a Hold'em tournament of the WSOP, a tournament he never managed to win in the past.
