WPT Barcelona: Bevand and Pollak fight for a French victory

The World Poker Tour (WPT) is currently visiting the Catalan capital. For this edition 2013 of the WPT Barcelona, 249 players enrolled for the main event of € 3,500 buy-in. At the end of the second day of competition, it remains only 42 players. Anaras Alekberovas occupies the chip lead. He has 467,000 chips. Tahiri Hassini and Antonio Alfaia follow him respectively in the second and third position. And as usual, many French players joined Barcelona to compete for the title of this poker tournament. At the start of the Day 3, Benjamin Pollak is in an excellent position for the rest of the tournament and he has a big chance to claim he title. He is in the top 5 of the chip counts and has 212,500.

Manuel Bevand is also part of survivors. He may well achieve a feat despite his stack above the average. We must also mention the presence of some French players as Paul Testud, Alain Roy and Yannick Bonnet and a few poker pros like Steve O'Dwyer, Bryn Kenney and David Boyaciyan in this list. But the Day 2 of the WPT Barcelona was also marked by the elimination of many poker pros like Leo Margets, Matt Salsberg, Ilan Boujenah, Jean Philippe Rohr, Ana Marquez, Rebecca Gerin, Davidi Kitai, Lauri Pesonen and Kevin MacPhee. Currently, the remaining survivors will join the poker room of Gran Casino Barcelona to resume the game. The winner will pocket $ 258,448 and will be entitled to a WPT bracelet and a ticket for the final in Bellagio.
