WPT Venice Grand Prix: Erion Islamay, chip leader at the start of the Day 4
After three days of competition, there are only 18 players to compete for the title of the WPT Venice Grand Prix Main Event. At the beginning of this poker tournament, they were 173 to race during the two entry days, but the number of survivors decreased gradually as the competition progressed. At the start of the Day 3, they were still 32 with Ludovic Lacay as chipleader but at the end of the day, nearly half of the field was removed and the French, who had 351,400 chips earlier in the day finished seventh with 402,000 chips. Max Pescatori was the bubble boy of the World Poker Tour Grand Prix by having finished at a place for the cashes. The local player Daniele Mazzia was the first eliminated from the ITM and his 21st place allowed him to win $ 6,964.
Erion Islamay is the chip leader of the day with 470,000 chips but his opponent is just behind with 10,000 chips less, Marcello Montagner (460,000). The Day 4 might be very tough because the rest of the field is still composed of many great players to the example of Mike Sexton (5th, 414,000), Kara Scott (6th, 414,000), Ludovic Lacay (7th, 402 000), Rocco Palumbo (8th, 378 000) and Martin Staszko (10th, 251,000). Among the survivors of the day, there are also Alessandro Giuseppe Pastura, Xia Lin, Ivan Gabrieli, Roberto Begni, Matthew Salsberg, Lauri Personen Matias, Gianluca Speranza, Angelo Recchia, Giorgia Tabet, Antonino Zito and Matteo Fortunato still in the race for the Day 4.
