UKIPT London: A new conquest for Sergio Aido
The United Kingdom & Ireland Poker Tour (UKIPT) London 2013 crowned its winner in the person of Sergio Aido, after six days of competition. This player fairly quiet until here has already a major title which was offered to him at the World Poker Tour National Barcelona and he also has at his prize list a paid place in the European Poker Tour Prague. This victory in London allowed him to receive a great reward amounting £144,555. Native of Spain, Aido is known for his super-aggressive style of play. The same technique allowed him to win in the poker room of Grosvenor Victoria London in this tournament of £ 770 buy-in when he started the final day in the 5th position in chips. After only five hands, Aido managed to accumulate the largest stack at the table.
During the final duel which opposes him to Thomas Ward, Aido had a large advantage in chips. The few attacks of his opponent were not enough to eliminate the Spaniard who managed to emerge victorious from of the duel. His runner-up, for his part settled with the second prize of £ 116,845. Patrick Simcoe occupied the place of bronze with a prize of £ 63,560. Philippe Souki, Neys Wim Guy Goosens, Cesar Garcia and Chris Dowling were respectively ranked in the 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th position. This stage of the UKIPT London recorded an unprecedented success as a field record of 1,099 participants was listed there, creating a prize pool of £ 746,221 which was distributed to the 144 best players in the event.
