ISPT Wembley: The event wakes up and offers a prize of one million euro
Project developed by Prosper Masquelier and Laurent Tapie, the International Stadiums Poker Tour (ISPT) was announced as the biggest poker event ever organized in live. But in recent weeks, the ISPT experienced setbacks that undermine its credibility in front of poker enthusiasts. Indeed, the event began to lose its legitimacy when the organizers announced that the online qualification on the lawn of Wembley that will meet 30,000 players, a first in live poker was canceled, the initial buy-in halved and the prize pool was not fixed. Since then, the ISPT lacked credibility but organizers changed quickly the shot by giving a press conference last Friday. The conference was also an opportunity for the ISPT to announce its partnership with the British poker operator Dusk Till Dawn.
Prosper Masquelier (ISPT), Rob Yong (Dusk Till Dawn director) and Simon Trumper (director of tournaments in DTD) held the press conference with a briefcase containing one million Euros in their sides. Indeed, the ISPT Wembley will guarantee a prize money of one million Euros to the winner regardless of the prizepool. DTD tournament director, Simon Trumper will be also the tournament director of the International Stadiums Poker Tour. In detail, the prize money of 1 million remains fixed as explained by Rob Yong which means that if the ISPT gather a prize pool of 3 million, 20% of the prize pool will be awarded to the winner, which means 600,000 and Dusk Till Dawn will pay the remaining 400,000 to ensure the 1 million prize for the winner of the ISPT Wembley.
