GPI: Marvin Rettenmaier leading again the ranking
Marvin Rettenmaier is the new leader of the ranking of the best poker players in the world according to the Global Poker Index (GPI). This is the second time that he held this place of honor. The world number one, Dan Smith, who served for 15 weeks, dropped to the third position. This strong growth, 'Mad Marvin' got it thanks through his qualifying for the final table of the World Poker Tour Baden (WPT) which took place in Austria. Moreover, this event helped many players to improve their position in the GPI ranking. Paul Berende, the runner-up of the WPT Baden is part of them. He is currently at the 58 th position of the GPI.
Thanks to their good results in the WPT LA Poker Classic, some players also experienced significant growth in the GPI. Among them is Galen Hall, the runner-up of the tournament. He won 110 seats and is in the 185 th place of the GPI. Jesse Yaginuma, the amateur player who won the bronze place of the WPT LA Poker Classic also made his start in the rankings. Ana Marquez and Christian Harder are also among the players who performed well during the last update of the GPI. As usual, some members of the GPI had to leave their seats to others by lack of results. This is the case of Justin Bonomo and Jonathan Duhamel. They declined significantly and are now respectively in the 22 th and 30 th position.
