Online poker: New Jersey advance to its legalization

After over a month of waiting, those who closely follow the case of online poker legalization in New Jersey finally had a good news. Indeed, Governor Chris Christie decided to approve the bill thereto under some conditions which are mainly the optimization of fight against gambling addiction, the increasing of tax revenues and the adoption of a clause of revision. For the history, the bill legalizing online gambling in the State was handed over to the Governor in last December. And after the 45 days which was offered to him, he published a rather satisfactory verdict. The Poker Players Alliance, through its Executive Director John Pappas told that this decision by the governor is a great victory for lovers of online poker in the State.

According to the project co-signer, Senator Lesniak, changes imposed by the Governor shall be adopted no later than March 18. Then, the ratification should not take much time. New Jersey could soon follow the same path as Nevada and Delaware, two U.S. states that legalized their online gaming market. PPP is very optimistic about the idea that New Jersey will become the market leader. It must be said that the State has many strengths that will enable it to achieve such a goal. Besides being the most populous, New Jersey also relies on its many operators already present in Atlantic City. In addition, local authorities also aim to revive this ancient capital of gambling through the web.
