EPT Deauville: Andrei Stoenescu chipleader at the end of Day 2
The European Poker Tour Deauville just reached its Day 3 after the Day 2 that was marked by the elimination of 260 players. Indeed, the Day 2 hosted the 419 survivors of the two starting days but after the day of Tuesday, there were more than 159 players on the Day 3. The challenge of this new stage, also the main objective is to access to the next rounds and to finish in the ITM which 120 players will be paid. David Ostrom began the afternoon of this poker tournament with the biggest stack but other players like Casey Kastle, Jesper Feddersen, Marvin Rettenmaier, Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier, Martin Jacobson, Arnaud Mattern, Fabrice Soulier, Nicolas Levi, Isabelle Mercier, Jake Cody, Antoine Saout, Steven Moreau, Xavier Detournel, Vanessa Rousso, Elizabeth Hille and Aubin Cazals were still in contention to access in the Day 3. But most of these players were eliminated during the day.
At the end of the day, Andrei Stoenescu was at the head of the chip counts with a stack of 485,000 chips. Behind, there were also players like Cyril André, Rémi Le Meur, Casey Kastle, Nicolas Levi, Matthias De Meulder, Fabrice Soulier, Marvin Rettenmaier, Steven Moreau, Yannick Bonnet, Steve O'Dwyer, Julian Brécard, Aubin Cazals, Ana Mark... The Day 3 begins this Wednesday at noon with 159 survivors of the Day 2. Players who arrive to qualify in the ITM will pocket a minimum gain of 8,000. During the final table scheduled on Saturday, the winner of this stage of the EPT Deauville Season 9 will pocket 770,000 while the runner up will receive 475,000.
