WPT Borgata Winter Poker Open: 397 players present for the Day 1A
The World Poker Tour Borgata Winter Poker Open is one of the biggest stages of the WPT. It meets in every edition several big names in poker. Last year the event attracted over 700 players and the victory was awarded to Michael Mizrachi. The edition 2013 has just begun in Atlantic City with the main event of $ 3,500 entry fee. A great success is expected as 397 players joined the poker room of Borgata Casino for the Day 1A. The field is composed by many renowned players like Dwyte Pilgrim, Andy Frankenberger, Tony Dunst, Matt Matros, Jason Koon, Will Failla, Erix Baldwin and David Baker. They also managed to qualify for the Day 2.
But the most outstanding player during the first day of competition was Luis Vasquez. He is currently in the lead with over 180,000 chips. His name is less known by the public as he registered few so far few cashes in live tournaments. His victory in the $ 3,300 Championship Event at the Foxwoods Poker Classic in 2010 was his greatest achievement. But Luis Vasquez already has some $ 439,199 in tournament winnings. It remains to see if he could embellish his record by maintaining his advantage at the next day of competition. Among the unlucky of the day are Noah Schartz, Erik Cajelais, Jonathan Little and also Allen Kessier. They always have the opportunity to retry their luck on Day 1B.
