ESPT Madrid: Victory of Adrián Díaz Mateos

Last Sunday, the Gran Casino Madrid hosted the final of the Main Event of the first stage of the Estrellas Poker Tour 2013 after five days of fierce competition. 632 players came to participate in the Main Event of the ESPT Madrid for a registration fee of € 1,100. This field generated a prizepool of € 606,720 including € 103,000 for the winner. By judging these figures, this step of Madrid, which opened the sixth season of the Estrellas Poker Tour was a success. After four days of competition, the ESPT hosted the final table which met eight players, the survivors of the 632 players at the start of the departure day. The final table was composed by Pedro Oliva, Richard Milne, Francisco Arce, Miguel Sánchez, Vicente Delgado, Angel Botana, Adrian Mateos Diaz and Jose Alvarez.

Miguel Sánchez was the first eliminated player from the final table and took home a gain of € 11,375. Eliminations followed each other with Vicente Delgado, Francisco Arce, Angel Botana and Pedro Oliva who left the table with a gain of € 15,170 to € 30,340. At this stage of the final, there remained only three players but the Scot Richard Milne followed quickly after the path to the exit leaving the title race to Adrian Mateos Diaz and Jose Alvarez. The two Spaniards confronted in a head's up that lasted only three-quarters of an hour. Adrián Mateos Díaz won the final and was rewarded with € 103,053 while Jose Álvarez ended up with a nice consolation of € 88,856.
