Davidi Kitai: The best player of Belgium in 2012
Year-end and the transition to the new year is the perfect time to designate poker players who marked the past year. It is a common practice in other domain such as music, sport like football for example. In Belgium, the naming of the most deserving poker players began in 2008 with the As dOr (Golden Ace). Such action aims to democratize this card game. The idea is to Georgy Versteppen, president of Spa poker club which is also the oldest poker club of the Flatland. 2012 was eventful and brought many awards for Belgians. Belgium has a contingent of poker players quite well known on the European level.
A name stood out, Davidi Kitai considered as a genius in this field. He is classified in the category As dOr International. Revealed to the public because of his coronation during the championship of Belgium, Kitai also got his gold bracelet in a $ 1,000 event of the WSOP in Las Vegas this summer, so his nomination was not a surprise. We must recognize that this player had a nice course during the last year at national or international level. Ranked 4th by the French site Live Poker, this poker prodigy has his place in the French poker. Among his feats, we can say his victory in Berlin obtained at the Main Event of the European Poker Tour which let him pocket, in addition to the title, a big check of 712,000. So, it is quite natural and normal if he was awarded the trophy of the best professional player in his country.
