Dan Smith: 2012 has been a great success for him
A few months ago, Dan Smith was a true unknown in the world of poker. But this year, he became a real star. He is following the same path of his compatriot Erik Seidel who was under the spotlight in 2011 with his many exploits. Indeed, the course of Dan Smith during this year 2012 going to close in a few days was exceptional. By winning the 5,200 tournament of the European Poker Tour Prague edition 2012, he scored his sixth live win of the year. Indeed, the U.S. player already had five titles in live tournaments before his performance in the poker room of Hilton Prague if we only mention his trophy at the $ 100,000 Aussie Millions and the three titles at the side events of the EPT Grand Final Monte Carlo.
To return to his triumph in Prague, Dan Smith evolved in a field of 42 participants including top players at international level. There were among others Bertrand Grospellier, Marc-André Ladouceur runner-up of the tournament, Daniel Kelly, Bryn Kenney and the Dutch poker pro Paul Berende. The event brought together a prize pool of 203,700 allowing Dan Smith to go home with a significant gain of 68,120. With this new conquest, the American improved his position in international poker rankings. He may in any case ensure his ascension in the Global Poker Index.
