888 Holdings PLC: Real money game on Facebook in 2013
Social networking platform internationally renowned, Facebook will propose in 2013 online gambling through a new partnership with 888 Holdings PLC. Known for its platform 888poker, the operator will provide to members of Facebook gambling in real mode that will start in the UK. According to its CEO, Itai Frieberger, 888 planned since a long time to develop games for real money for social gaming and the potential of Facebook will allow them to offer its "freemium" offer. Facebook also welcomes this partnership given the experience of 888 in the world of online gambling for both security and for the quality of its offerings. But this offer will be only available for the United Kingdom and Facebook will block users connecting from outside the United Kingdom. At first, the 888 offer will be limited to 'Bingo Island, "a bingo game for real money, but games such as slot machines, poker and other casino games will be added to the offer later.
Games in real money is not a first for Facebook, which launched on last August bingo with real money and not just with Facebook credits. Called Bingo Friendzy, this offer was the result of a partnership with the software developer Gamesys. The latter subsequently added to its real money gambling offer on Facebook games like slot machines. Longtime partner of Facebook, Zynga will also penetrate the real money games market in the UK next year. Its offers from its partnership with bwin.party Digital Entertainment will be also available on Facebook in 2013.
