EPT Prague: A success story
The famous Prague Poker Festival continues! While the World Poker Tour Prague had just crowned its champion, the European Poker Tour has just started in the same city in the poker room of the Hilton Hotel. The event stopped for the sixth consecutive year in the lovely capital of the Czech Republic. For the first qualifying day of the main event of 5,300 buy-in, it drew 337 participants, which allows predicting the success of the tournament. Last year, the tournament field amounted to 722 participants. The organizers hope to raise more then 400 players on the Day 1B. And the Day 1A took place peacefully. At the end of the day, there were more than 180 players competing.
Several familiar faces attended the event and those who managed to qualify for Day 2 are Fabrice Soulier, Juha Helppi, Cazal Aubin, Laurent Polito, Kent Lundmark, Philippe Narboni, the French poker player number one Bertrand Grospellier, Dan Smith, Fabian Quoss, Praz Bansi, Eoghan O'Dea and Melanie Weisner. Apparently, France is still well represented for the rest of the competition. In the other side, the adventure is over for Liv Boeree, Guillaume Darcourt, Steve O'Dwyer and Jonathan Duhamel. The player of Russian origin Iosif Berskrovnyy is occupying the place of chipleader. For the moment, he is in the lead with 223,900 chips. Todd Terry, Oleskii Kovalchuk and Vincent Van Der Fluit are in the list of those who follow him closely.
