BPT Cassis: Won by Philippe Vert
After a successful stopover in Deauville, the Barrière Poker Tour tournament (BPT) visited this weekend the French town of Cassis, a city in the Bouches-du-Rhône. Note that this poker circuit gained especially a great reputation among the public since it allied with the World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE), an event that will take place for the third consecutive year in France. Indeed, the BPT offers to players the opportunity to qualify for the main event of this great event. By participating in the 1,350 + 150 buy-in main event of the BPT Cassis, the top 5 players won their seats for the main event of the WSOPE 2013 through the 5 packages of 12,000. Of the 135 players who took the start, it was Philippe Vert, who was unbeatable and leaves the tournament as winner and pocketed 25,500.
Like him, his opponent in the final duel, Jeremy Libraty ( 21,000) and Romain Chauvassagne (3rd), Yann Migeon (4th) and Steven Moreau (fifth) also received their ticket for the WSOPE. Note that the previous step, that of Deauville recorded an attendance rate almost similar as it hosted 142 players and ended with the victory of Thomas Alonso. Several side events were also planned during the BPT Cassis like the two Deepstack Freezeout tournaments available for 300 and 550 buy-in, the ladies tournament and different qualifying Steps.
