Nadal: The former tennis ATP No. 1 reconverted to poker
Lately, the number of athletes who decided to become professional poker players increased greatly. The Catalan tennis prodigy, Rafael Nadal joined this community. As a reminder, Nadal deserted tennis courts due to his injury. Pending to recover, he decided to move from tennis court to green carpet. 26 years old, this player should however overcome many steps before becoming of an ace poker even if he has already been a king in tennis. However, he is willing to invest in learning. He just signed a contract with the online poker room, PokerStars. Since then, he reappeared in movies and advertisements of the room. For PokerStars, the image of the young tennisman is the best thing to launch the domain .es of the room.
Now, it remains to prove if Nadal is definitely made for poker. He will thus test his skills on the poker tables of PokerStars in the 200 buy-in main event of the Escoop or Spanish championships of online poker which kickoff was launched on Sunday, December 9. Rafa, his nickname on the court, follows he on online tables. He said in an interview with Huffington Post his desire to become a great poker player but he won't forget to get maximum pleasure. He also mentioned that playing poker is almost the same as playing tennis. It needs great concentration and knowledge to take advantage of his opponent's gaps careless. By hearing him, its seems that he has already mastered the strategies to apply.
