Cercle Wagram: Opening of the trial
That's exactly a year and a half, on June 8, 2011, that the Cercle Wagram was closed after the entering of the police in the place to take control of the facility in the morning. And since last Wednesday, December 5, the trial of the gambling circle Cercle Wagram has been reopened where ten people were judged in the correctional court in Paris. These ten defendants, consisting of one woman and nine men aged between 41 years and 52 years, were indicted for conspiracy and extortion. Some observers see in this case the signature of the mafia of Corsica.
As a reminder, before its closure, the Cercle Wagram, a circle of poker well known and popular in the French capital, was one of the most exclusive areas of the city, players and celebrities often give appointment in the circle game on Champs Elysées to play poker and other casino games. However, on January 19, 2011, two different groups confronted there in order to take control of the property, a "putsch" for the seizure of the power in place as told journalists. And even if the accused refused to say what was the reason of their descent in the gaming circle that day, the police that wire-taped the institution in the context of another case recorded everything. However, this place attracted many people whether by satellite, regular poker tournaments and cash games organized there.
