WPT Mazagan 2012: A first trophy for Giacomo Fundaro
Awaiting the start of the World Poker Tour Prague (WPT) organized in the framework of the Festival of Prague, players met in Morocco to compete for the title of the WPT Mazagan 2012. A field of 146 participants was recorded during this event. Even if it was not a great success , nevertheless, the public of Mazagan casino poker room got a beautiful show especially during the final table. But despite the presence of many renowned players, the trophy was awarded to an unknown player. This is the Italian Giacomo Fundaro. He has just won his first major title. Certainly, he participated in many tournaments and has several cashes, but he has not yet reached the top spot.
Fundaro deserves his victory as he managed to defeat the greatest names like Davidi Kitai who started the final battle however as chipleader, Bruno Fitoussi and Clement Beauvois. They are respectively ranked 4 th, 5 th and 6 th. Jeremy Nock was awarded the third place while Frederic Brunet bagged the second prize of $ 99,082 after losing the final duel against Fundero. As champion, the Italian left with a reward of $ 168,207 including a $ 25,000 ticket for the final tournament, scheduled to take place at Bellagio in Las Vegas in May 2013.
