Dutch Boyd: A job search because of a bad beat
Playing poker can pay you a big jackpot but you can also lose everything overnight if you can not manage your bankroll. Thus, poker players are not immune to bankruptcy and can be found on the streets after a long moment of glory. The last known case is that of Dutch Boyd who, after the apotheosis of his career have actually nothing because of a bad management. When poker started to take off, Dutch Boyd was stunning on the tables of live poker tournaments. In 2003, Boyd finished in the 12th place at the World Series of Poker and a few years later, he won two bracelets and 17 WSOP cashes. Dutch Boyd won in 2006 the $ 2,500 Short Handed NLH and the $ 2,500 in 2010 LH / Six Handed while pocketing gains of $ 475,712 and $ 234,065. It raised more than $ 2 million in live tournaments.
But since this time, the level of other players increased and Boyd began to lose more and more and showed a decline in performance to lose everything. And everything seems to go wrong for Dutch Boyd either on tables or outside the rooms. Just recently, the Californian posted on Reddit his last misadventure in applying for a sales position paid at the minimum wage. He has not been received due to an award not equivalent to the bachelor. But we still hope that the bad beat of Dutch Boyd is temporary.
