FPS Paris High Roller: Victory of Ilan Boujenah
The High Roller of the France Poker Series held at the Cercle Cadet kept its promises: a nice poker tournament which brought together many players, the stars of French poker and lesser known players. In all, there were 51 players who registered for the tournament of 3,000 buy-in, with big names such as Alain Roy, Antonin Teisseire, Bertrand Grospellier, Eugene Katchalov, Jean Pierre Petroli and Roger Hairabedian, thus generating a prize pool of 138,067. So in the end, it was Ilan Boujenah who won the title of the tournament allowing him to pocket at the same time the first prize of 49,400 after a head's up against Omar Lakdhari.
The tournament was intense as if registered players had to designate a winner after two days of tournament; the final was undone in the early morning, after the day 2. They were seven players who were in the money, a list set after the removing of Bekkouche Karim, the bubble boy of the game, by Bertrand Grospellier. The final started in the afternoon of the day 2 and do not finish until very late in the night. Christopher Pereira was the first to leave the party by being paid, pocketing 6,267, followed by Jean Paul Pasqualini (6th), Bertrand Grospellier (5th),Agatino Spitaleri and Jeremy Nock. The final duel between Boujenah and Lakhdari Omar was very long and did not end until about 3:00 am. With his 2nd place, Lakhdari went back home with 32,000.
