Player Of The Year Update: Good course for Schwartz and Cheong
Several big names in poker registered good results during their participation in the various major tournaments organized these days. Some were able to improve their position in the standings Player of The Year 2012 (POY). In this context, we can mention the performance of Noah Schwartz at the World Poker Tour Jacksonville (WPT) which allowed him to earn 1,080 points and climb at the 17 th place in the POY. Note that this player from Florida won the trophy in the no-limit hold'em tournament of $ 3,500 buy-in and pocketed the sum of $ 402,970. Currently, he has a total gain of $ 1,076,035. The closing of the Asia Championship of Poker Macau High Roller of HKD$ 250,000 marked also this week. As a reminder, this event trophy was awarded to the Australian Jonathan Karamilikis. Runner-up at this event, Jeff Rossiter managed to climb at the 48 th place of the POY.
But the player who managed to improve significantly his POY ranking after having shined in this competition is Joseph Cheong. As a reminder, he finished 4 th as he won the Bronze Award of the ACOP Warm Up. These excellent results have therefore earned him 810 points and Cheong is currently 4 th in the standings before Rettenmaier. Greg Merson, Dan Smith and Kyle Julius are the trio winning. Finally, we must also mention the result of the Heartland Poker Tour Las Vegas. This event attracted many poker pros especially in the main event of $ 1,650 entry fee. Winner of the tournament, the young player of 22 years, James Carroll scored his first major title and earned 456 points.
