APPT Macau: Xing Zhou won the main event
The final table of the tournament Asia Championship began on Sunday, November 11 in the poker room of the Grand Waldo Entertainment Complex. Nine players took part but in the end, it's Xing Zhou who was awarded the victory, however, he was the closest competitor threatened by elimination. He indeed managed to win and was awarded the position of chipleader in a few hands. Henry Wang was the first to leave the table. He was followed by Tom Alner, Andrew Hinirichsen, Tsugunari Toma, Alan Sass and Jacques Zaicik who are classified respectively in the 8th, 7th, 6th, 5th and 4th place.
There remained then only three players on the table. The public believed that Michael Kanaan, the chipleader at the start of the game would take again the lead of this last round but he was not able to do this, he lost in the third position but still pocketed a prize of HKD $ 1,731,000. The final duel opposes Xing Zhou and Ying Kit Chan. Zhou had already a big advantage in chips. So the battle was quickly concluded with the victory of Zhou who received then the big bonus of HKD $ 3,547,000. His runner-up also received the same reward following a deal made in advance. Note that this event was really successful, which proves once more the great development of poker in Asia. The organizers already give appointment to poker enthusiasts for the edition 2013.
