ACOP High Roller: A gain of HK $ 3,707,000 for Karamalikis
Last weekend was also an opportunity for the Grand Waldo Entertainment Complex to host the High Rollers of the Asia Championship of Poker. This event was particularly interesting because the buy-in was HK $ 250,000 and, of course, many professional players on the international level were present at this appointment. These include among others the presence of Joseph Cheong, John Juanda, Phil Ivey and Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier. The ACOP High Roller of this new edition of the Asia Pacific Poker Tour Macau brought together a total of 39 players generating a prizepool of HK $ 9,266,400 and the last player of the ITM received then HK $ 740,400.
For two days, participants fought in a great battle to qualify for the final table reserved for five players. Survivors for the final table were known when ElkY was eliminated in the sixth place. The French was the bubble boy of the final table. The first eliminated player from the final table was David Steick followed by Joseph Cheong. Eliminated in the 5th and 4th place, the two players left with HK $ 740,400 and HK $ 1,112,000. The eliminating of Chunlei Zhou allowed the two Australians Jeff Rossiter and Jonathan Karamalikis to qualify for the head's up. Zhou pocketed HK $ 1,483,000 for the third place while Rossiter fell to the second place and leaves the victory to his compatriot. Jonathan Karamalikis pocketed HK $ 3,707,000 while Jeff Rossiter settled with HK $ 2,224,000.
