WSOPC River Rock: A great success for its visit on the Canadian soil
Last Wednesday, the winner of the World Series of Poker Circuit (WSOPC) River Rock has been known. This is John Crncic. The first visit of the tournament in Canada was really successful. The organizers brought together 1,032 participants. It is also the largest poker tournament ever held in the country. Several well known players in the world took part in the event like David Sands, Gavin Smith, Laurence Grondin, Adam Levy, Scott Clements, Doug Lee, Matt Affleck and Jason Koon. They however, didn't went further than the Day 1. At the start of the second day, the field was already greatly reduced. Indeed, there were more than 246 players in the race. And a few times before the bubble burst, other professional players like Matt Jarvis and Greg Mueller were also forced to leave the party.
They were no more than 30 to have joined the poker room at the third day of competition. And after a few hours of play, the finalists stood out with Sonny Sekhon as chipleader. One hour after the start of the final, the first victim left the table. This is Glenn Sullivan. He was followed by Michael Collins, Tyler St.Clair, Calvin Anderson, Sonny Sekhon and Mal Hagan. Justin Ciolfitto joined also a few hands later the exit door and was awarded the third prize of $ 131,580 and let Ryan Biermann and John Crncic compete for the title. Even if this latter still lacks experience in major live tournaments, he dominated his final opponent. Thus, he won the first prize of $ 286,382 and the gold ring.
