APPT Macau: Andrew Gaw, chipleader at the start of the Main Event Day 3
The Day 2 of the Main Event of the Asia Championship of Poker, part of the APPT Macau 2012 was held on Thursday with the 140 survivors of the first day. The Day 2 was marked by the elimination of 84 players which lead to a field of 56 players for the Day 3. At the end of the day of Thursday, Andrew Gaw is at the top of the chip counts with a stack of 329,200 chips while the chipleader of the Day 1, Yue Lam Hin occupies the second place with 303,900 chips. For the Day 3, we find among others Xing Zhou, Tsugunari Toma, Edmund Lee, Henry Wang, Michael Kanaan, Robert Schneider, Paolo Compagno, Rahul Byrraju, Victorino Torres, Raymond Wu, Raiden Kan, Aaron Lim, Chen Rui, Mike Watson, Nicky Jin, Andrew Hinrichsen, Andrew Scott, Jay Tan, Vivian Im, Celina Lin and Angel Guillen.
Some players were less fortunate and were eliminated before the end of the day. This was the case of Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier, Eugene Katchalov, Oliver Speidel, Timothy Finne, Max Lykov, Brendon Rubie, Naoya Kihara, David Steicke, Didier Guerin, Bryan Huang, Jackie Glazier, Daren Yoon, Jonathan Karamalikis, Kenny Wong and Julian Powell. "ElkY" started the day as the short stack with 5,925 chips and it was not enough for him to face John Conkright. Of the 56 survivors for the Day 3, only 22 of them will be in the ITM and will share the prize pool of HK $ 17,305,200 of this poker tournament which HK $ 4,240,000 will be offered to the winner.
