Online poker: The attendance rate of French rooms continues to decline
According to the latest quarterly report of the ARJEL, cash game activities register a major decline which continue to increase the extent of degradation of the French market of online poker. This downward trend affects all online poker rooms on French soil but attendance confirms that some rooms are able to hold their level of turnover. Among the operators which kept the cash game attendance despite this downward trend, we can place in the first three spots on the podium of this past week: Winamax, PokerStars and Partygaming network composed of PMU Poker, PartyPoker and ACFPoker. Thanks to the evolution of its software, the organizing of innovative tournaments and live events, the offering of interesting packages to the players, Winamax still maintain its 1st place with an average of 1,720 cash game players against 1,340 last year.
In the second place, we find PokerStars with an average of 1,400 cash game players against 1,580 last year. The room is famous for its live tournaments like the European Poker Tour and the France Poker Series. It manages to keep its ranking through advertising, the acquisition of Full Tilt Poker, but especially by the innovation. Partygaming network occupies the third place with an average of 760 cash game players over the past seven days. iPoker is right behind with an average of 710 players. The room is followed by Barriere Poker, Ongame and PKR. These three operators are less than 360 players with 56 average players to PKR.
