ACOP Warm-Up: Victory of Jeff Rossiter
The tournament Asia Championship of Poker (ACOP) Warm-Up of $ HKD 25,000 buy-in ended on Tuesday night and crowned Jeff Rossiter. Note that 358 players took place in the poker room of the Grand Waldo Entertainment Complex to compete for the title of the event, which allowed the organizers to bring together a fairly substantial prize pool totalling $ HKD 8,000,000. Many well-known players were part of the field. Many of them were eliminated early if we only name the champion of the Asia Pacific Poker Tour Macau Randy Lew, Celina Lin, Eugene Katchalov, Dominik Nitsche, Mike Watson, Bertrand Grospellier and Tom Marchese. Johnny Chan and Joseph Cheong in their side reached the final table.
If Chan bowed to the 7th position, Cheong was able to earn a spot on the podium. In fact, he finished third and pocketed $ HKD 731,000 equivalent to $ USD 93,718. Chip leader at the start of the final table, the Australian Jeff Rossiter kept his advantage and played the title against David Martiroysan. Highlighting an aggressive style of play, he ended up by ousting his opponent who dominated the game. As champion, Rossiter was entitled to the first prize of $ HKD 1,777,000 (227,821 USD). With this new award, he now has more than $ 1.25 million in tournament winnings in live poker.
