Shane Warne Super Stack: Schneider wins the title
Last weekend, the Crown Casino of Melbourne, Australia hosted the Shane Warne Super Stack, a live poker tournament that brought together 332 players. Many top players like Shane Warne in person, Michael Guzzardi, Amanda De Cesare, Antonio Casale, Tony Hachem, Peter Aristidou, Daniel Botta, Leo Boxell or the defending champion Monica Huynh responded to the call but after three days meeting, the title went to Dean Schneider. After the first day, 72 players survived from the 332 registered of the day. These survivors began the Day 2 with the aim to reach the final table for some or finish in the money for others. After a few hours of play, the ITM was defined when Troy Laurens, bubble boy of the tournament, was eliminated by Jarrod Glennon.
Ten players survived to the final table: Eugene Portlen, Josh Foster, John Broukoumis, Justin Daniel, James Owens, Justin Wadsworth, Fred Tschirsch, Rob Archer, Jun Wang and Dean Schneider. The ten survivors were back on the tables of Crown Casino for the grand finale. Justin Daniel was the first player eliminated from the final table but it did not take long to be followed by Daniel James ($ 1,100), John Broukoumis ($ 1,700), James Owens ($ 2,590), Rob Archer ($ 3,450) Eugene Portlen ($ 4,325) and Jun Wang ($ 5,175). Dean Schneider and Josh Foster met for the head's up after the elimination of Fred Tschirsch ($ 7,775) and Justin Wadsworth ($ 10,350). Dean Schneider won the head's up and pocketed $ 21,355 while Josh Foster left the table of this poker tournament with $ 15,500.
