Live tournament: Women players shine
Two women poker players in the person of Vanessa Selbst and Melanie Weisner had just accomplished a feat in live tournaments. Regarding Selbst, she was part of competing for the title of No Limit Hold'em of £ 5,000, an event organized in the framework of the series of tournaments Festa Al Lago. The American poker star of 28-year already holds a World Series of Poker trophy, a World Poker Tour and a Partouche Poker Tour was once again the best in this event which was attended by several talent men if we only mention Cliff Josephy, Justin Young, Daniel Negreanu, Andrew Lichtenberger, Dan Shak and Chris Bjorin. This latter was her opponent in the final duel, but he did not better than Selbst. The U.S. woman player triumphed once again in the beautiful poker room of Bellagio casino in Las Vegas. This new performance allowed her to embellish her bankroll that reach now $ 5.5 million.
While Selbst is savoring her victory at Festa Al Lago, Melanie Weisner also received a reward in South Africa for winning the title of an event of the World Poker Tour Poker Classic Emperors Palace Johannesburg. It was during the No-Limit Hold'em Six-Handed tournament of $ 1,000 entry fee. This event brought together a field of 133 participants. And even if it was the champion of the EPT Deauville, Lucien Cohen that she faced during the final heads'up, Weisner did not have difficulty to win, earning a prize of $ 41,289, her first major title.
