World Poker Tour: Start of the stage of Johannesburg
The kickoff of the $ 3,600 buy-in Main Event of the World Poker Tour Poker Classic which is held for the first time in South Africa, in Johannesburg to be more precise, took place on Monday, October 22. The organizers have chosen to work with the Emperors Palace casino, a hotel resort in the South African capital. This main tournament have as structure two Day 1 with re-entry format. The biggest names in South African poker like Krmaer Darren, Raymond Rahme and Jarred Solomon are expected to join the poker room to take part in the event. WPT champions as Chris Moneymaker and Joe Cada and former world champions such as Melanie Weisner, Liv Boeree and Dominik Nitsche also announced their presence. Regarding the structure of the event, each competitor will begin the game with 30,000 starting chips. The duration of the game levels will increase gradually. It starts with 60 minutes.
To attract poker enthusiasts to participate in this African stage of the WPT, the organizers prepared various events to allow participants to experience the cultural richness of the country. There was for example a welcome party during which the assistants enjoyed traditional Zulu dance. They also decided to offer players a night safari as a gift. The latter will then admire the richness of African wildlife. Note that the WPT Poker Classic Emprerors palace will not end until October 26, 2012.
