Seoul Poker Cup: And the winner is Olivier Ziegler
The 59 survivors of the two entry days returned to Paradise Casino Walkerhill Seoul to compete in the second and final day of the first edition of the Seoul Poker Cup which challenge was to win the title. Many players left the table prematurely and the bubble burst when Guillaume Patry was eliminated in the 14th place. The thirteen remaining players were all in the money, but the final table could only receive nine players. Eliminations chained up until there were only nine players. The Japanese Takahisa Watanabe was the first eliminated and pocketed KRW 2.74 million for his 13th place. His compatriot Keitaro Kumazaki follow him a few hands later (KRW 2,740,000). The list of removed was subsequently enriched by Hyung Jin Chun (KRW 2,740,000) and Eugene Chun (KRW 3,425,000).
The final table was played between Masanori Ishihara, Dominic Mykhaltso, Robin Theobald, Daniel Kleven, Chris Park, Andrey Shtern, Hyun Shik Yun, Olivier Ziegler and Chris Fang Hsu but after two hours of play, seven players were eliminated leaving the final head 'up to the Taiwanese Chris Hsu Fang and the French Olivier Ziegler. Fang was still the chipleader after two hours of play but Ziegler changed rapidly this advance by winning hand after hand until eliminating the Taiwanese out of the game. The French won the final table of the poker tournament and cashed KRW 40,415,000 ($ 36,000). Chris Hsu Fang settled with KRW 23,290,000 for his 2nd place in this tournament of South Korea.
