EPT San Remo Day 5: Jason Lavallee at the head of eight finalists
The Day 5 of the Main Event of the EPT San Remo 2012 was the last chance for the 24 survivors attempting to qualify for the final table because only eight players were selected. Jason Tompkins started the day as chipleader but at the end of the day, the chiplead returned to Jason Lavallee who had 5,545,000 chips. Among the finalists, we find Ludovic Lacay second with 5,366,000 followed by Jason Tompkins (3,605,000), Ismael Bojang (2,845,000), Adrian Piasecki (2,045,000), Angelo Recchia (1,755,000), Micah Raskin (1,550,000) and Artem Litvinov as the short stack at the final table with a stack of 800,000 chips. The French had a little more than three million thanks to this hand.
Michele Di Lauro was the first player to leave the table after his removal by Micah Raskin. His 24th place in the Main Event of the European Poker Tour San Remo allowed him to collect 23,000 gain. The Norwegian Inge Forsmo experienced shortly after the same fate face to Jason Lavallée. Among the eliminated, there are also players who started well the day with in the person of Matt Salsberg, Imed Mahmoud, Carmelo Vasta or Charly Marrachione. These eight contenders will return to Sanremo Casino on Thursday for the final table and to succeed to Andrey Pateychuk, the reigning EPT San Remo champion who won 680,000 last year.
