WSOP-E: Bertrand Grospellier leads the Day 1B
The famous WSOP Europe is one of the toughest competitions in terms of poker tournament. The edition 2012 saw the participation of 420 players, in a regression if compared to the edition 2011 in which 593 participants tried to win the jackpot. The current champion, Michael Mizrachi and Bertrand Grospellier, leaders of the day 1A and day 1B of the Main Event reflect the seriousness and difficulty of this event since its inception. Despite the many absent players, a fierce battle has been registered with the most famous poker players such as Bertrand Grospellier who built up a place of great favorite with many chips. Top 10 headliners announced a tough competition with names such as Daniel Negreanu, Chino Rheem, Phil Hellmuth or Eugene Katchalov and Philippe Boucher.
Other talented players like Liv Boeree, Roberto Romanello, Sam Trickett, Ashton Griffin, Jason Mercier or Litchtenberger and Antonio Esfandiari all ended the first day above the average. In the side of French players, the results are not as bright as they are only a few players who rank among the best behind ElkY. At the end of day 1B, 230 players came to qualify and will fight not only for one of the 48 paid places, but especially for the first prize of 1,022,376.
