WSOPE: Ben Mahmoud as winner of the Event 1
Since last Friday, the Casino Croisette Cannes vibrates on the rhythms of the World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE), the ultimate appointment of poker enthusiasts in Europe. 7 events are scheduled and as the WSOP events taking place in America, each of these events will allow the winner to pocket a bracelet of champion. The Event # 1, a Six Handed NLH of 2,700 buy-in, which final table took place on Sunday, brought together a field of 227 players. After three days of competition, Imed Ben Mahmoud won his first WSOP Europe bracelet after a final table against players like Sylvain Ribes, Senh Ung, Matan Krakow, Roberto Romanello or Yannick Bonnet. The Franco-Tunisian was in a bad position because at the start of the final day, he was in sixth place in terms of chips but he managed to get a place in the head's up against the chip leader of Day, Yannick Bonnet.
The duel between the two men began a few minutes after the exit of Matan Krakow, eliminated by Ben Mahmoud at the third place ( 63,671). After a few hands, Imed Ben Mahmoud takes over and amassed all the chips of his opponent. He pocketed 147,099 and the bracelet while Bonnet, for his runner up place left the table with a gain of 90,844. In the fourth place, there is Senh Ung ( 44,913), followed by Roberto Romanello ( 31,925) and Sylvain Ribes ( 22,876), the first to be eliminated from the final table. In parallel with the NLH Six Handed, La Croisette poker room also welcomed on Sunday the Day 1B of the NLHE (Event 2) which ended with Marvin Rettenmeier as chipleader of the 98 survivors of the 331 starting players.
