Player of The Year: A good progression for Mohsin Charania and David Baker
Last week, many tournaments were held. After taking part in these events and achieved good results, some poker players improved their position in the Card Player Player of The Year 2012 rankings. Mohsin Charania and David Baker are part of them. Regarding Charania, he accomplished a great feat in the $ 2,500 buy-in main event of the World Poker Tour (WPT) Grand Prix of Paris. In fact, he finished fifth and pocketed an award of $ 121,987. This excellent performance also earned him 320 points. With the 2,100 points he earned by winning the biggest tournament of the European Poker Tour Grand Final in Monte Carlo, Charnia was propelled to the 14 th place of the ranking.
As for David Baker, his sixth place at the Heartland Poker Tour Black Hawk Colorado allowed him to get 304 points and climb to the 9th position in the ranking. Note that this event of $ 1,650 buy-in was attended by 739 players at Golden Gates Casino. So now, the top 10 ranking is composed of Dan Smith, the leader, Kyle Julius (2nd), Marvin Rettenmaier (3rd), Oliver Speidel (3rd), Anthony Gregg (4th), Ole Schemion (6th), Vadzim Kursevich (7th ), Joe Kuether (8th), David Baker (9th) and Phil Ivey (10th). Because several other major tournaments including two stages of the WPT take place at this time, the classification can experience other changes next week.
