Macau Poker Cup Championship: Triumph of the businessman Rui Chen
The main event of the Macau Poker Cup Championship which was held at the Grand Waldo Entertainment Complex ended with the victory of the Chinese businessman Rui Chen. And despite his status, this 37-year champion won his place for this event by participating in a satellite tournament of HKD $ 1,000 entry fee. He was particularly brilliant as he began the final table as chipleader. He also contributed to the elimination of Robert Streatfeild in the ninth place. Rui Chen confirmed then that Chinese are experts if it's about mind game. This surely explains his victory. After the exit of Ryan Hong in the eighth place, the two women finalists left one by one the part starting with Lisi Wei followed by Jessica Ngu even if the public hoped to see a woman winning the tournament.
It only took a few minutes for Kevin Kung to join them. Kung was the victim of a real misfortune because he saw his stack to evaporate after an attack of Wenlong Jin. After his removal, the four remaining players engaged in a more serious battle that lasted about two hours before Sunny Jung leaves the table. Hongxin Jin were eliminated then in the third position leaving Rui Chen and Yosuke Sekiya to compete for the title. At the end of the duel, Chen emerged victorious and pocketed the enormous prize of HKD $ 1,108,500. Note that the next major poker event of Macau will be held at the Grand Waldo again from October 26 to November 11, 2012. It's the Asia Championship of Poker.
