EMOP Barcelona: The final of the Main Event this Sunday
The 1,100 buy-in Main Event of the Barcelona stage of the European Masters of Poker (EMOP) started on Thursday, September 13. Last year, the event attracted a field of 455 participants and ended with the victory of the Norwegian player Andreas Hagen. The event is gaining more and more notoriety and became a popular meeting for amateur and professional of poker. The first day of qualifying has already started in the poker room of Barcelona casino yesterday at 16:30 and the Day 1B is scheduled to begin this Friday, September 14. The organizers estimate to gather about 500 participants in this edition. About the structure of the tournament, competitors were each entitled to 20,000 starting chips with blinds of 50/100. The level of play is 45 minutes and from level 7, it will be an hour. The final table of the tournament is scheduled to take place on Sunday, September 16 from 5:00 pm.
Aside from the main event which promises to be very interesting, two side events also await players who will join the prestigious Spanish city during the weekend. Thus, there will be no-limit hold'em freezeout open for a buy-in of 330, which will be spread over two days. Its kickoff will be held on September 15 to 19. The second event is a no-limit hold'em turbo freezeout of 120 entry fee and will be held in conjunction with the final on Sunday, September 16 from 5:00 pm.
